About NSS

Vision:

The vision is to build the youth with the mind and spirit to serve the society and work for the social uplift of the down-trodden masses of our nation as a movement. MISSION The National Service Scheme has been functioning with the motto “NOT ME BUT YOU” in view of making the youth inspired in service of the people and hence NSS Aims Education through Community Service and Community Service through Education.

  • Understand the community in which they work.

  • The Motto of NSS "Not Me But You", reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for self-less service.
  • NSS helps the students develop appreciation to other person's point of view and also show consideration to other living beings.
  • The philosophy of the NSS is well doctrine in this motto, which underlines on the belief that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society on the whole and therefore, the NSS volunteers shall strive for the well-being of the society.

  • The symbol for the NSS has been based on the giant Rath Wheel of the world famous Konark Sun Temple (The Black Pagoda) situated in Orissa, India.
  • The wheel portrays the cycle of creation, preservation and release and signifies the movement in life across time and space, The symbol thus stands for continuity as well as change and implies the continuous striving of NSS for social change

  • The NSS Symbol is embossed on the badge. The eight bars in the wheel represent the 24 hours of a day.
  • The red colour indicates that the volunteer is full of young blood that is lively, active, energetic and full of high spirit.
  • The navy blue colour indicates the cosmos of which the NSS is tiny part, ready to contribute its share for the welfare of the mankind.

  • The programme aims to inculcate social welfare in students, and to provide service to society without bias.
  • NSS volunteers work to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of dignity.
  • volunteers learn from people in villages how to lead a good life despite a scarcity of resources. it also provides help in natural and man-made disasters by providing food, clothing and first aid to the disaster victims.

  • NSS was formally launched on 24th September, 1969, the birth centenary year of the Father of the Nation. Therefore, 24 September is celebrated every year as NSS Day with appropriate programmes and activities.

NSS Unit Activities :-

     2010-11

i) Annual NSS camp was organized at Roshangaon. 100 students (50 Girls) participated in the camp.

ii) Blood donation camp was conducted in the college on 3.2.2011. 27 students donated the blood.

    2011-12

i) i) Annual NSS camp was organized at Roshangaon during 15th Jan. to 21st Jan. 2012.  100 students (50 Girls) participated in the camp.

ii) Blood donation camp was conducted in the college on 1.2.2012. 40 students donated the blood.

iii) Dubaklod G G from our college participated in State level AIDS People awareness program organized by Higher and Technical Education, Govt. of Maharashtra and Shivaji University, Kolhapur on Worlds AIDS Day, 1st Dec.2011.

iv) Dubaklod G G from our college has actively participated in the State Republic Day Parade Camp organized by the NSS Cell, Department of Higher and Technical Education, Govt. of Maharashtra and University of Mumbai from 16th -26th Jan. 2012 at Vidyanagari, Santacruz, Mumbai.

v) Ku. Yasmin Begum got prize in poster competition Maharashtra State Road Security Program 2012 organized by Highway Police and NSS.

    2012-13

i) Annual NSS camp was organized at Babhali during 12th Jan. to 18th Jan 2013. 100 students (50 Girls) participated in the camp.

ii) Blood donation camp was conducted in the college on 4.2.2013. 27 students donated the blood.

iii) Sainth Gaddulwad has participated in State level training camp on Disaster Management Camp organized by Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri from 7th -16th June 2012.

iv) 14 students participated in Chatra Police Mitra program.

v) Shinde S D and Paralikar R N participated in state level NSS program on Youth for Environment Awareness from 24th -30th Jan 2013 at Chintamunishwar Hill, Paradsingha Ta. Katol Dist. Nagpur.

     2013-14

i) Annual NSS camp was organized at Babhali during 9th Jan. to 15th Jan
2014. 100 students (50 Girls) participated in the camp.

ii) Blood donation camp was conducted in the college on 30.01.2014. 46
students and Faculties donated the blood.

iii) Shelke Mallesh Gangaram and Thakkurwar Naresh Sayanna have been
participated in State level training camp on Disaster Preparedness organized by SRTMU Nanded during 2th -11th June 2013.

iv) Parbatwad Rajita participated in University level Youvati Shibir.

     2014-15

i) Annual NSS camp was organized at Babhali during 3rd Jan.- 9th Jan
2015. 100 students (50 Girls) participated in the camp.

ii) Blood donation camp was conducted in the college on 3.02.2015. 32
students and Faculties donated the blood.

iii) Ku. Gokawar R G has participated in “Utkarsha- 2015 State level Social-Cultural competition” during 20th -22th Jan 2015.

iv) Ku. Kadam M B has actively participated in the State Republic Day Parade Camp organized by the NSS Cell, Department of Higher and Technical Education, Govt. of Maharashtra and University of Mumbai from 16th -26th Jan. 2015 at Vidyanagari, Santacruz, Mumbai.

v) Kolambare B R and Bhadre S P participated in District level Yuvak-Yuvati Leadership Development Training Camp. From 19th -23rd March 2015.
